DELL ALIENWARE M14x Review

Dell's Alienware have always been a prominent device for game lovers indeed! and also some more synonym company have been entered into the world of gaming like ASUS and MSI. Still Alienware has got it's position in the market as the top and leading demand among gaming fraternity. Its been beating others in term of design and technology.

Dell has filled up the void when they were launching the M14x, which actually provide perfect balance of portability and performance. so lets take the fully pimped out M14x. Due to rather brazen upgrade pricing, the base price of 1149 Euro skyrockets past 1500 Euro rather quickly.

DESIGN AND BUILD:-

This is the solely area where the Alienware notebooks has got never failed to impress and the ones no exceptions. The material and attention to this device is impeccable. The matte black finish oozes style and the surface barely attracts any fingerprints of dust making it very easy to keep clean. Although it's a 14 inches notebook, its quiet chunky as well as heavy the weight is slightly above 2 kg's.

An extravagant design has been the trade mark of this Alienware notebook's. One can choose fro 20 different colors in nine different zones. The gummed surface and the materials used for exterior are above reproach as well and the M14x continues to retain its very good overall ratings.

The front portion bares a back-lit honey combed grill and the lid can easily be opened with single fingure due to the sake of weight in the base. This notebook comprises of 3 USB 2.0 ports, HDMI 7-in-1 memory card, dual head-phone jack and micro-phone jack, VGA Gigabit Ethernet port. There are two lager intake vents at the bottom. These are meant for the graphic card and the only push once when discrete card is opened.

.

The 14-inch screen sports a higher 1600 x 900 resolution and is LED back lit. The entire screen has a glossy finish, which makes the picture pop. The key-board is back-lit, as well as what you can do is in this laptop, you can easily customize the lighting effect to virtually any color. It was very impressive design and build quality of the notebook even it is incorporated with different lights in the larger model.

It's been a few years since Dell gave its Alienware lineup a makeover, and it's starting to show like the recent M11x , the new M14x has the same angular, almost automotive design as the 15 and 17 inches models of few year ago.

FEATURES :-

Dell has gone all out on their this version the M14x. Powering with the strength of core i7-2820QM quad-core processor running at 2.3 GHz with the ability of turbo to 3.6 GHz. For memory, this Alienware is blessed with 8 GB memory with DDR3 running at 1600 MHz. The third and most prominent component , the graphic card is Nvidia GeForce GT 555M with 3 GB of GDDR 3 memory. Other component include a 750 GB hard disk, Bluetooth and Intel Wi-Fi 'n' Module.

ALIENWARE M14x

  • Expansion: None

while the ports and the connections on the M14x are mostly standard stuff, i personally admire the way Alienware has got triple video out set up for HDMI, VGA and Mini Display Port.

The real star of the show is quad-core Intel core i7 2820QM processor, which sits at the top of Intel's current laptop. It's a very powerful CPU, making it so that only recent very high-end systems. such as Apple very high-end 15 inches MacBook Pro, are comparable to the M14x in our Benchmark test.

The NvidiaGeForce GT555M as also new top-of-the-line part, and helped run our unreal tournament at 1400x900-pixel resolution at 240 frames per second.Playing a more recent game, such as Mafia II, at 1,600x900-pixel resolution with very high graphics settings got us a more realistic number, 34.8fps. Either way, this is a zippy gaming machine and more than enough to handle the latest games (although not at 1,920x1,080 pixels, as the M14x's screen resolution doesn't go that high).
