THE ALL NEW STUNNING HONDA BRIO WITH NEW TECHNOLOGY AND EFFULGENT STYLE WITH COMFORT

Honda-BrioHONDA BRIO REVIEW

The Brio is the new entry-level hatchback from Honda’s stable which is placed a segment below the premium hatchback Jazz. The Brio competes with the Chevrolet Beat and the Hyundai i10 and also gets the same 1.2-litre Jazz engine. The Brio has been designed smartly which doesn’t just look outlook but is also a practical hatchback

This is how the all new Honda Bio will look from inside view.

FEATURES OF THE CAR
  • The Honda Brio made quite an entrance into our longterm fleet.
  • The Brio shares its 1.2-litre engine with the Jazz which, coincidentally, superb refinement, a slightly restrained bottom end, an impressive build-up of power through the mid-range, followed by a manic top end.
  • The Brio feels light on its feet thereafter, throttle responses get sharper and you can really feel the additional power released with each millimeter of accelerator pedal travel. It is this stirring that really makes the Brio so endearing and a bundle of fun to drive in the city.
  • The light clutch and smooth gearbox only help matters here.
  • The Brio also rewards sober driving. There is an ‘ECO’ indicator beside the speedometer that glows when you drive with a light foot — keeping it lit is a fun way of maximizing fuel economy. Brio has returned an impressive 12.6kpl in the city so far.
  • The steering is light and this, coupled with the small exterior dimensions, mean the Brio is effortless to punt around town in.
  • The suspension is quite absorbent too, so you can take the road less traveled in reasonable comfort.
  • You also get a great view out the front and rear windscreen which removes any guesswork when parking in tight spots.

THE OUTER LOOK
The Brio certainly is a looker. In this segment where classical designs are more appreciated than anything radical, the Brio has everything working in its favour. While it doesn’t have the sharp, funky lines of its rival, the Chevrolet Beat, or the radical futuristic styling of its elder sibling, the Jazz, it still manages to stand out in a crowd quite easily. The well proportioned currency with short benchmark is something that really gives the car a dynamic look. While Honda’s designers might want to describe the styling as 'double triangle' or the like in the language only automobile designers can speak and very few apart from their ilk can understand, what is clear to understand is that the Brio does look like it’s moving forward at a good clip even when its standing still, especially when viewed bang-on from the side.

AN INSIDE LOOK
The Brio could feel like small car from outside perspective but the story is quite disparate. What Honda has pulled off is a masterstroke of packaging and designing of the car from different color and well finished material, which is giving a car premium feeling to have in. The Interior also offer plenty of room for four adults sized. Even with our larger sized editorial staff behind the wheel, similarly sized staffers enjoyed 2-3 inches of space between their knees and the back of the front seats. This is also thanks to the well designed front seats of the Brio. Not only are these one-piece units especially thin, freeing up space in the cabin, they also provide all the necessary rigidity and comfort comparable to the much larger seats that we find in Honda’s larger cars. Another really interesting result of the choice of seat design is that they resemble the shape of racing-bucket seats you’ll usually find in sports cars.

This is how what the new Brio will look from interior angle as well as comprising of different color which is giving this car a great and effulgent look.

This picture is shown to viewers, just to emphasize on back seat room, where a adult personality can be overjoyed with additional inches gap between the knees and the back of the front seat.

FINAL TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

This mid-level hatchback segment is one where 1.2-litre petrol motors rule the henroost, but companies like Maruti Suzuki, Chevrolet and Ford do play it really smart and offer diesel engines as well. Diesel has become the new Chant for most manufacturers, mostly due to an overwhelming response of buyers to switch their preferences of fuel to the heavier one. Now Honda’s forte really is petrol, and when you look at the company’s international portfolio, it’s clear to see that the diesel engine really is the stepchild of the Honda family. The fact that the company doesn’t have a single diesel offering in India means that Honda only has the option of a petrol motor to address all the concerns of Indian buyers, right from the much desired ‘pick-up’ aspect to the even more decisive ‘mileage’ aspect.
So when you look into the business end of the Brio, you find the familiar 1.2-litre i-VTEC mill that you find in the Jazz as well. Thankfully, Honda hasn’t decided to do something drastic such as downsize the engine for this smaller car, or something as dire as lopping off a cylinder to achieve that. WhatHonda has done is smartly retune the motor in keeping with the ‘city car’ aspect of the Brio. The 1198cc motor now produces 88PS of power which comes at 6,000rpm and a decent torque of 109Nm, available at 4,600rpm. The five-speed manual gearbox which sends that power and torque to the front wheels features revised ratios as well, which are very well suited to capitalise the new state of tune of the engine. What really works in favour of the engine is its unimaginable levels of refinement it offers. During our test drive, we were tempted to turn the key again to bring it to life when we though the engine was switched off, when it was already running, turning away at idle rpm.
